This laser cut dress was calling my name (find it here) and while it does come in black, it’s obviously not the route I’d want to take! I borrowed this laser cut dress from the friend I share closets with and ended up giving it back (instead of holding it hostage) because it didn’t fit my frame too well. I love the dress though and can see it working for nicely for a lot of other people.
To be honest, I’m struggling to find dresses that work on my curvier frame for spring/summer. I like dresses with sleeves that are either flowy or have a fit and flare shape. I’m remembering painfully well what it’s like to go into a store and find nothing for more curvy girls. It’s definitely hard on my self image and it’s been a rough week in that regard. And that’s saying it mildly. I’ve been really struggling and it reminds me how much work needs to be done with having clothes for women of all sizes.
I’m not even plus size and I can’t find clothes that fit – and that’s a big problem. Two companies reached out to me this week and both companies didn’t offer sizes past a size 8. How is that ok? It just leaves me feeling badly about myself. It makes me lose some of the excitement I normally feel for fashion and self expression through style and it kind of make me want to hide. Wow, I didn’t plan on discussing this today but it’s written and I’m going to leave it here. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the subject and if you relate, let me know!
