I love the Dumbo area in Brooklyn and I keep coming back with Kelly for photo shoots because it has some of the most beautiful views of New York city as well as incredible spots like this flower garden. When I first spotted this floral lace dress on Liz and Honey‘s website, I knew exactly where I wanted to photograph this beautiful dress. Kelly and I had passed by a month or two earlier (blog post here) and I wasn’t sure that the flowers would still be there. I did a happy dance (no, really, I did, I’m sure Kelly will verify hehe) when we came back to see this spot looking just as gorgeous. Keep scrolling for a more detailed review of this dress.
This was one of those dresses that I instantly fell in love with when I spotted it online. I took the advice to size up and I’m glad I did because it runs on the smaller side. So if you plan on ordering it, I’d strongly suggest you size up. I actually sized up two sizes because I wanted added length and I like a looser fit but that’s a personal, “I feel self-conscious in fitted clothes” type of thing.
I forgot to take a picture of the back of the dress and I’m sorry about that because it has a really fun hot pink exposed zipper which is another great element to the dress. Also, this dress is $45!
I didn’t create July 4th outfits specifically for the blog but as I was going through these photos, I realized they worked perfectly for July 4th! This dress is the second piece from Hutch (first Hutch look here) and this midi dress is such a classic. It’s sleeveless but I’m wearing it with a silk tee underneath for modesty. I love the subtle, primary color stitching on the skirt and of course the pocketssssssssss! 🙂
Also, I am obsessed with my two new red lipsticks. The first one is pretty famous; Mac’s Ruby Woo and the second is Mac Sheene Supreme in “New Temptations.” While Ruby Woo is an amazing matte lipstick in the perfect shade of red, New Temptations is a glossy, creamy lipstick in another gorgeous red shade. New Temptations obviously doesn’t stay on as long as Ruby Woo but I love the glossy feel and the fact that it’s non drying. I’m actually wearing both lipsticks here. I added New Temptations over the Ruby Woo to add some shine.
I collaborated with Hutch last fall (here) and loved the pieces I received so I was excited to have the opportunity to choose a couple of pieces from their amazing summer collection. Here is the first piece I chose; I know I keep saying I’m not a pink person but this pleated puff skirt was too good to pass on! I love the ikat print and poofiness of this pink skirt and I found the coolest wall at Coney Island as the backdrop for these photos. I recently discovered Ona Chan‘s gorgeous jewelry line; how beautiful is this rose gold and pink quartz lattice cocktail ring? I love that it’s gorgeous from every angle and it comes in a variety of metals and stone colors. You will definitely be seeing more of this beauty on the blog!
I know these photos suggest otherwise, but I’m really not all that into pink. Ha! But the beautiful print on this pink summer dress persuaded me to go for it. And once I decided to go pink, I decided to go all pink! Eliza J dresses always have such great prints and colors and the one I’m wearing happens to be on sale right now. I feel like I need a garden party to attend now!
Sometimes it’s all about the statement shoes! I am apparently the only owner of these incredible shoes because they never went into production; they are a true sample and I got them for about 90% off of what similar Paul Andrew shoes go for. It’s exciting to be able to own a pair of shoes I would normally never be able to own because they are so beyond my budget so heck yes for sample sales! They’re a bit cooler than my usual shoe style but it’s fun to branch out and the chunky platform make these shoes pretty comfortable. They’re sold in taupe, burgundy, and a black and red jacquard here. And you can find this print in a more classic pump style here. I am also personally obsessing over this pair!My newest jewels from Wrenn Jewelry and Leslie Francesca might be my favorites to date. These cool multi stone and druzy rings with the moonstone bangle and mint green gemstone bangle are amazing. And my Amelia Rose paris necklace in peony is a beauty too.
