To put it mildly, I am not a morning person! But I have been wanting to take photos on the Brooklyn Bridge and the only way to get photos without enormous crowds of people is being there ridiculously early on a weekend. Because most normal humans are not up at 5AM on a sunday morning (sorry if you are one of those few that are up then hehe); I mean I’m usually up close to noon! I am pretty impressed with myself that I did it but I can’t say it’ll happen again any time soon. Leaving my house when it’s still dark outside is noooot for me! The funniest part is that there ended up being a crown of marathon runners during our shoot but we were mostly done by then and it was still early enough that we were able to take photos in between the crowds of runners. And hey, now I can say I did a photoshoot on the bridge.
I dream of being able to own every single piece that Rebecca Taylor designs and this Rebecca Taylor dress is so beautiful! I love the shimmery threads woven into the dress and the purple-blue color. The long sleeves seal the deal for me and I know I’ll be wearing it often. You might see it again on the blog; I’m thinking it’ll look great with suede knee high boots!

I’m also sharing my latest article with Mode, sharing just how easy it is to rock skirts and dresses with boots! You’ll see the dress I’m wearing today styled with boots in the article which will definitely be inspiration for a future blog post!

I wore this dark green striped sweater dress to work this week and it kept me warm in my freezing office. Wearing tights helped too but the dress is nice and thick; substantial without feeling bulky. I’ve been enjoying the cooler weather and trying not to think about how soon it’ll be before the weather turns unbearably cold. But it’s always better to live in the moment and today was beautiful! Have a great weekend!
I wore this striped peplum tee last week on the blog (here) with a more summery look but wanted to share another way to transition the stripes for fall. I think this burnt orange pencil skirt (last seen a year ago here) is a great color for fall and while booties and a jacket would really make this outfit fall appropriate, I would probably pass out from the heat if I attempted that!
This butterfly skirt from Leah & Pearl is so sweet and feminine; I feel like it can transition easily from work to a night out, depending on the styling. I originally chose to play it safe and pair the skirt with a black sweater but I decided last minute to throw in more color because… well, that’s usually my philosophy! And it’s summer so why not do a fun peachy coral and blue combination? This is my second piece from Leah and Pearl (first one on the blog here) and I am 100% happy with both pieces.
