My First Real Ombre Manicure!

There’s a nail salon in NYC-Valley Nails- known for it’s nail art but I never thought about going because I don’t spend hundreds of dollars or even fifty dollars on a manicure. So when there was a groupon for a gel manicure with nail art at Valley Nail, I jumped at the chance to try it out! They are not the most friendly place  in the world but they definitely know what they’re doing and they can do some pretty crazy stuff. I personally have no problem with bright colors and subtle nail art but I draw the line at studs and crystals on the nails. It seems so cheap to me! What are your opinions on nail art? Like it? Hate it? Only some kinds? Tell me!

Here are some other pretty ombres:

Lace+Pop of Color+Leopard

Tip of the day: If you’re looking for ways to spend less money on shoes and your feet are smaller than a woman’s 7 1/2, you should try the kid’s department. You think I’m joking? Totally not! The super cute leopard loafers I’m wearing in today’s outfit were purchased at Zara. I’ve also gotten kid shoes from Gap, Ugg, and J.Crew for really great prices. Generally, you go down 2 sizes so if you’re a 7, you’d be a 5 kids, a 6 would make you a size 4 kids, etc. Have any of you done this before? Obviously, I’m not going to buy a great pair of heels from the kid’s department, but a great pair of ballet flats (which makes up the majority of my shoe collection, ha ha)? Heck yes!

Emerald+Sequins

Soooooooo (a couple more “o’s” maybe?) excited to finally be posting on my newly designed blog! Kelly Stahley was so sweet and incredibly fast! She did this for me in like 5 minutes- no joke! So besides for the blog looking a lot cleaner, you’ll probably also notice the pictures are of much better quality too. Chani Shmookler-Deutsch is super talented and pretty much self-taught and generously offered to photograph my outfits. Lucky for me (and Chani), these photos were taken a couple weeks ago when it was a lot warmer because I cannot imagine going outside right now without a million layers! As always, let me know what you think:)

A Sequin Party!

So just kidding guys! I decided that because it’s going to take a little longer than I thought for the new web design to come through, I won’t wait until then to start posting. Although I will wait to show you the outfit posts I did with my fabulous new photographer because….well, I just want to wait ’till my blog is looking more professional before I put those up! 🙂

Anyway, I was in a pinterest haze (aka staring at pinterest for hours until my eyes started to glaze over) and felt inspired by all the sparkly holiday looks going on so I decided to create some party looks of my own. Not that I actually attend parties very often. Right now it’s a Saturday night and I’m wearing cable knit leggings, purple Ugg Slippers, and a big, cozy, sweatshirt while drinking tea and checking out pinterest. Yep, my idea of a fun night out. 🙂 All these looks have flats because I thought that if I were at a party and I actually knew how to dance (I don’t), I’d want to leave with toes still intact although now that I think about this some more, being that the party is hypothetical, I could have rocked some hypothetical hot heels. Oh well, next time, my friends!
