Manicures and Nail Art Roundup

I’d love to be able to get ombre manicures and gorgeous nail art every week but sadly, it’s out of my budget and I have zero nail art skills (I can barely do basic polish). Yeah, I know, #firstworldproblems. But anyway, here are four gorgeous and fun manicures that have caught my eye lately on pinterest. How do you feel about nail art? Do or don’t? My thoughts about nail art (and I’ve probably shared this before) are that I’m all for fun manicures but cannot stand studs, crystals, or any tacky bling on the nails. I’m not a fan of animal print or overly done nails. Also, very long nails and claws kind of make me gag. But I love, love ombre manicures, watercolor manicures (like the bottom right) and simple nail art.

And now for the nails that are actually mine. FYI, NO, I did not do this. I’d like to take credit for this, but I go to my local salon and beg one of the more skilled nail technicians to do some nail art when he’s in a good mood.
Essie in Cashmere Bathrobe (dark gray with subtle shimmer) and Warm & Toasty Turtleneck (the perfect smoky purple)
I hated how the one below came out. I pictured something else in my head but it didn’t come out the way I pictured it. I guess that happens sometimes. But I got a ton of compliments all week with this manicure, so I thought I’d share.
Essie Butler Please (fun, bright blue) and Chinchilly (lighter gray)
