I’ve been a die hard Makeup Geek fan for years so I was really excited to receive a fun package of makeup from them a few weeks ago. I thought I’d share my favorite products and let you know my Makeup Geek eyeshadow must haves. This is not sponsored; I genuinely love their makeup and enjoy sharing beauty products that I love with you guys! By the way, the killer red lip I’m wearing above is in the shade Beauty Queen and it’s amazIng!Makeup Geek eyeshadows have been some of my go-to shadows for years now. They come in an amazing shade range, blend easily, and have the perfect amount of pigment. They’re also only $6 if you buy it in a pan (which you can easily pop into a magnetic palette) so the price point is really reasonable.
Here are my my Makeup Geek eyeshadow must haves:
Transition shades are a necessity when it comes to a well done smoky eye because no one likes to look like they were punched in the face! I like starting a smoky eye with a color that is a shade or two darker than my skin. My two favorites are Peach Smoothie which is a pretty light, peachy shade that works for me when I’m lightest during the winter and Creme Brulee which is a shade or two darker.
Cocoa Bear is my most used shade and I use it every single time I’m doing a brown/copper/gold/peach/shimmery eye… which is daily. Ha! It’s a warm, rich medium brown shade and always looks so good. If you need a good black shadow in your life, look no farther than Corrupt. It’s the most intense matte black I own but it’s also easy to work with and blends out well.
Makeup Geek truly shines with their insanely creamy foiled eyeshadows (the three in the middle row of the palette are foiled shadows). They’re definitely a little more fragile but worth taking extra care of because their metallic finish is like no other. My favorites are Grandstand which is a gorgeous rose gold coppery shade and In The Spotlight which is a light metallic pinky coral. I haven’t tried the purple shade yet but I plan to try it soon.
I’ve only tried one shade in their Iconic Lipstick range. I got the shade Lively and it’s my perfect every day shade. I don’t love how I look in nude lipsticks so this is the perfect muted plum pink shade that I look for when I want something a bit more toned down. The texture was a nice velvety matte and wore nicely throughout the day.
Let me know if you’ve tried any Makeup Geek makeup and what your favorites are!
