I guess this week is all about the black and white printed dresses. 🙂 I love this dress and will definitely be wearing it to work frequently!
Ah, I can’t believe it’s already October. I feel like I was just talking to my young clients about the transition from summer to the school year and now it’s already October, my birthday month. Time really flies!
This look is a bit more appropriate for warmer weather so let’s just pretend we’re still in the middle of summer and I’m on my way back from the beach. #yesplease
I love these shots that Brittanny took in the Meatpacking District, right by The Standard; the best hotel for people watching, especially during fashion week! Brittanny spotted Chiara Ferragni but she was halfway inside the elevator before I noticed her. Not that I would’ve stopped her and proclaimed my love for her shoe line or anything… 😉
I’m not particularly looking forward to my upcoming birthday (sort of dreading it is more like it) and while I do feel thankful for the many blessings in my life, I’m just not looking forward to aging another year. The reasons are complicated and some are just too personal to put out here right now. But one way I know how to cheer myself up is with a fun, fantasy birthday wish list. It’s always fun to dream. 🙂
1. This Gigi New York Hayden Satchel is on my wish list for the second year in a row. This rich, wine color is so gorgeous and the navy embossed python is my other favorite. 2. I’ve been crushing on the Mansur Gavriel bucket bag for the longest time. Even if I were to somehow get on a waitlist for one these beauties, it still falls out of my price range. The Kelsi Dagger bucket bag is a more affordable option and is beautiful as well. 3. The Phillip Lim Pashli in turquoise is kind of amazing. I’m loving vibrant jewel tones for fall and winter and this rich, metallic leather is beautiful.
4. My birthstone is an opal and I don’t own any opal jewelry. I’ve never been a fan of opals until I saw this Margaret Elizabeth opal ring. It’s so beautiful and now on my wishlist! It also comes in a gorgeous mint green here.
I know it’s pretty obvious that I’m a fan of graphic tops. I love graphic tees with sayings that put a smile on my face because I like my expression of style to be lighthearted and fun. I’ve been seeing a popular graphic tee with the phrase “you can’t sit with us” and Vaiana, owner of Le Motto, came across a girl wearing a t-shirt that said “I want to be like Barbie because this b*tch has everything.” And while both of those sayings in my opinion are kind of funny, why not use a graphic tee to bring a more positive statement into the world?
Vaiana did just that with her Le Motto collection. I know I can use the reminder to “live more and worry less.” I’m constantly seeing clients come to my office because they have such a hard time living in the moment as their anxiety takes them way into the future or to the regrets of their past. It takes a lot of hard work to train your mind to be engaged in the moment but it’s worth it as life is way more enjoyable when you’re able to appreciate the “here and now.” I also seriously want the top that says “Accept More, Judge Less,” because I think that’s something we all can work on and a reminder of that is nice. Check out Vaiana’s full collection with all the mottos here. And Le Motto donates 10% of their profits towards anti-bullying causes.
These leather earrings (and the leather cuff as well) are from Nickel & Suede. They’re slightly out of my comfort zone but I’m glad I tried these pieces out; I’m definitely on the leather jewelry bandwagon right now! The earrings are really lightweight but they still make a fun statement and they are also so well priced at only $21!
Totally not a cliched title, right? 😉 I do have to say that I’ve never been hugely into plaid but I’ve been seeing it everywhere this fall and I guess it’s rubbing off on me because I now own two plaid dresses! This plaid shirtdress from Hutch is the perfect fall dress but it will also be great for winter with tights and boots. I also love my new bar name necklace from the cutest, little Etsy shop, Bip & Bop. She has a feather necklace that I now need! I’ve linked to some of my favorite plaid pieces so be sure to scroll down to the bottom of this post.
So I’ve finally been persuaded by my blog friends Kelly and Rebecca to switch my blog over to WordPress. I know absolutely nothing about web building and coding so this is pretty anxiety provoking but Kelly is literally taking over for me. I’m excited to share the new website with you guys sometime in the next couple of weeks and hoping I can figure it all out without deleting my entire blog or something like that! 😉
